Ingredients
  

  • For the Fish:
  • 1 lb 450g firm white fish fillets (cod, tilapia, or halibut)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
  • 2 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder optional, for spice
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • For the Toppings:
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage or lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • ½ red onion thinly sliced or pickled
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 avocado sliced or mashed for crema
  • Lime wedges for serving
  • For the Sauce:
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt or light sour cream
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • Pinch of salt
  • For Serving:
  • 8 small corn tortillas or whole wheat tortillas

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Prepare the Fish
  • In a bowl, mix olive oil, lime juice, garlic, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the fish fillets and let them marinate for 15-30 minutes.
  • Step 2: Cook the Fish
  • Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the marinated fish for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden and flaky.
  • Remove from heat and let rest for a couple of minutes before flaking into chunks.
  • Step 3: Warm the Tortillas
  • Heat corn or whole-wheat tortillas in a dry skillet for 30 seconds per side, or wrap them in foil and warm in the oven.
  • Step 4: Prepare the Toppings
  • Shred cabbage or lettuce, dice tomatoes and onions, and chop fresh cilantro.
  • Make a quick avocado crema (blend avocado, Greek yogurt, lime juice, salt).
  • Step 5: Assemble the Tacos
  • Place warm tortillas on a plate.
  • Add fish chunks, then top with shredded cabbage, fresh salsa, and avocado crema.
  • Garnish with lime wedges and fresh cilantro.
  • Step 6: Serve and Enjoy
  • Serve immediately with sides like black beans, corn salad, or cilantro-lime rice.
