Creamy Tuna Macaroni Salad with Mayo

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 5 oz cans tuna, drained
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream optional, for extra creaminess
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 tbsp sweet pickle relish optional
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard optional
  • Fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Cook macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to cool.
  • In a large mixing bowl, flake the drained tuna with a fork.
  • Add mayonnaise (and sour cream if using), Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  • Add cooled macaroni, celery, red onion, and pickle relish. Mix gently until all ingredients are coated in creamy dressing.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, replace half of the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
  • Add extra vegetables like bell peppers, peas, or cucumbers for crunch and nutrition.
  • Serve chilled for best flavor and texture.
