Equipment

  • 1 Large pot (for boiling lobsters)
  • 1 Skillet or frying pan
  • 1 Knife and cutting board
  • 1 Mixing bowls
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Oven
  • 1 Spoon for stuffing lobster shells
  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 2 whole lobsters
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 shallots finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup Gruyère cheese grated
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add lobsters and cook for 8-10 minutes until shells are bright red. Remove and let cool slightly.
  • Once cool enough to handle, carefully remove lobster meat from shells. Keep the shells for stuffing. Chop lobster meat into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add shallots and garlic, sauté until fragrant (about 2 minutes).
  • Add white wine and simmer for 3-4 minutes until reduced by half.
  • Stir in heavy cream and Dijon mustard. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens.
  • Remove skillet from heat. Whisk in egg yolks quickly to prevent scrambling. Add Gruyère and Parmesan cheese, and fold in chopped lobster meat.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Spoon mixture back into lobster shells.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place stuffed lobster shells on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Sprinkle a little paprika on top before baking for extra color and flavor.
  • Serve with a crisp white wine or Champagne for the ultimate gourmet experience.
