Equipment

  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Serving Plate

Ingredients

  • 1 lb 450 g raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice
  • 3-4 green chilies Serrano or jalapeño, chopped
  • 1 small cucumber thinly sliced
  • 1/2 red onion thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: avocado slices tostadas for serving

Instructions

  • Place raw shrimp in a mixing bowl and cover with lime juice. Let it marinate for 15-20 minutes until slightly “cooked” by the citrus.
  • In a blender, combine green chilies, cilantro, and a pinch of salt to make the green sauce.
  • Pour the sauce over the shrimp and stir to coat evenly.
  • Add sliced cucumber and red onion; mix gently.
  • Serve immediately on a plate or tostadas. Optional: garnish with avocado slices.

Notes

  • For a milder version, remove the seeds from the chilies or reduce their amount.
  • Best served fresh; avoid storing for more than a few hours.
